September into October
Autumnal Greetings!
The trees are already changing color, though mostly due to stress from drought. We need about 6 inches of rain to catch up with the deficit and that number keeps growing as these beautiful late summer days continue without precipitation. Gorgeous weather, yes, but not what we need right now. Luckily, this time of year, plants begin to shut down and don’t require as much water, but that shouldn’t stop you from watering established as well as new plantings.
Our last day of the season is quickly approaching, October 31st. If you’re looking to add some fall color to your garden, now is a good time to check out trees and shrubs when you can see the actual color they will turn. The nursery is definitely showing signs of fall.
Enjoy this season, hope for rain and we’ll see you soon.
